| Bicycle Ride |
It's that time of year when we start thinking of things we might do if the weather was a little warmer. O's sentences often begin with "Mama, when it's summer, maybe i can..." and then she lists her ideas of things and toys she will play with outside. These sunny days have me dreaming of leaving the house without jackets, and mittens, and long underwear, too. I can tell the spirit is in the air.
This latest piece i painted is a commission i received which is going to be given as a birthday gift. The only instruction i received were approximate dimensions, as well as that it needed to include a bicycle of some sort. I think my desire for summer is reflected in the colors of the painting. Not sure if you can tell, but the bright orange is actually a color i bought called "neon red." And i am loving it, especially in combination with yellow. It warmeth the soul.
